# Should I Use a Particular Nutrient and How Do I Keep My Nutrients Balanced?
Of course, we always suggest readers look up the Recommended Daily Allowance (“RDA”) for any nutrient and follow that guideline.
However, what if you aren't getting the results you had expected for some reason? Do you take less of or eliminate a basic nutrient? Again, we would never tell you to stop “cold turkey.” But health journaling can help you adjust the amount of a nutrient you ingest as your body acclimates. You can track the amount of a particular nutrient you eat/supplement and how your body responds in your written health journal or use an effective nutrient tracking app like [cronometer.com](https://drcarolyndean.com/nutrient-tracker/) to do so.
