What are Chloride ions in your Pico Meter Formulas?
Chloride ions in Pico Formulas
Chloride ions account for more than 3% of the body's total mineral count. Chloride is a major electrolyte and is needed to keep the proper balance of body fluids. It is an essential part of digestive (stomach) acids and helps control acid-base balance as well as fluid balance in the body. It activates key enzyme reactions and is otherwise a vital ion in the body. Chloride is absorbed primarily in the intestine and secreted through urine and sweat. Chloride has no known toxicity factor at this time, since excess chloride is easily excreted from the body.
Our minerals are derived from chloride salts, and much of the chloride ions remain as part of the stabilization matrix within the solution. The amount of chloride ions consumed during normal use does not and will not disrupt the body's “mineral system” as any un-used chloride is easily excreted. The amount of chloride supplied through our mineral formula is not enough to significantly contribute to the average consumption of chloride from the diet.
It should also be noted that much of the toxic effects of high daily intake of sodium chloride (salt) is caused primarily by the sodium ion and not the chloride ions.
