What calcium test does Dr. Dean recommend: An ionized calcium test.

What levels would you look at? As I say in Mag Miracle 2017: 

According to the Norman Parathyroid Center, adults over age 35 should NOT have calcium levels higher than 9.9, where the average range of calcium is 8.8-10.7 mg/dL.
